Rehabilitation

Focused foot and ankle physiotherapy, tailored to your recovery.

Specialist Foot & Ankle Rehabilitation

Each episode of physiotherapy care at Teesside Ankle Physiotherapy begins with a New Patient Assessment Appointment. At this appointment, Philippa will take a full history from you, detailing the onset of your symptoms, your current symptoms, and any other medical issues, while gaining an understanding of what you want to achieve. She will then assess your feet and ankles, looking at your movement, ligament stability, muscle strength, and functional capacity. This assessment will allow her to discuss a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs. Many patients at Teesside Ankle Physiotherapy need about three appointments to get them on track to a full recovery, although this can vary depending on individual presentations. Your individual needs are a vital part of the treatment planning.

🦶 What We Offer

From ankle sprains to achilles tendon problems, we provide focused foot and ankle physiotherapy tailored to you.

Postoperative Rehabilitation

Philippa has extensive experience in postoperative rehabilitation, ranging from bunion surgery to ankle replacements, fusions, and ligament repairs.

Acute Injury Recovery

Physiotherapy can help at any stage of your recovery following a sprain or fracture. Whether you need assistance simply getting your foot to the ground or are building back up to fast paced activities.

Ankle Instability

The majority of ankle instabilities respond exceptionally well to high-quality physiotherapy, even if you have been experiencing symptoms for a long time.

Achilles Tendon Care

High quality Achilles tendon rehabilitation, combining hands-on therapy with a personalised exercise programme.

Return to Sport Assessment

When to return to sport after injury is a difficult decision to navigate on your own. Pain is only one factor to consider when planning return to sport. Philippa can put you through a range of assessments to help you plan return to sport.

Osteoarthritis Care

While physiotherapy cannot reverse osteoarthritis, it is highly effective in managing the reduced mobility, joint stiffness, and muscle weakness associated with the condition.
